The Fallen Star (The French Blue)

Between 1671 and 1673, well before it became the Hope Diamond, the brilliant blue French Blue diamond was cut from the Tavernier Blue diamond. (Picture and description Jeweller Magazine)

In the story Moonfleet Crimson Tide, the French blue is renamed the Fallen Star. This diamond would now have been worth $350 million or more. After disappearing during the French Revolution, it reappeared in London years later, cut down to create the Hope Diamond, now on display in the Smithsonian Museum.

I have a replica of this beautiful stone to give away. This exquisite gem could be yours. See Moonfleet Crimson Tide Competition Page.
